All the While;
An Archival Portal into the world of TJ Swan

Before THE CR8TV HOUSE transformed into an artistic hub on the North Side of Milwaukee, founder Symphony Swan Zawadi knew it as home. The steward of the home, her father Anthony “TJ” Swan. She witnessed him embody many roles in the expanse of her upbringing: Carpenter. Laborer. Family man. Yet the upper floor—and much of his internal world— remained locked away from her knowledge until recent years. Only in his death was access to the attic granted. With grief came the paradigm shifting introduction to TJ Swan, the Artist.

Experience his work for the first time ever in All the While; an Archival Portal into the World of TJ Swan. Symphony activates the Swan lineage of woodworking to uplift and engage the material legacy her father left behind; from photographic studies of family to the written testimonies of a racially divided workplace. Witness a story of Milwaukee, as trailblazed by a Black man on the North Side.
